St. Joseph opens drive-thru COVID-19 testing site
BERN TWP., Pa. – People who have been ordered by a doctor to be tested for the coronavirus can now comply without even having to get out of their car.
Penn State Health St. Joseph announced Thursday that it has opened a drive-thru testing site on the medical center’s campus off Route 183 in Bern Township.
“This is not a random screening,” said Jeffrey Held, the hospital’s vice president of medical affairs. “It does require prescription from your doctor, someone to follow up on the results.”
The drive-thru site is open Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The testing is free and available to patients of any age. They will be asked to present their doctor’s order, photo identification and insurance card.
